Health & Safety

The George Roberts (North West) approach to health and safety is based on personal commitment and individual empowerment of all our employees. We believe everyone has a right to return home safely every day and a duty to take care of themselves and those around them.
Managing health and safety is a primary focus for us.  We strive to look after our own health and safety, and that of others, by reporting potentially uncontrolled hazards, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions or non-compliances. It is the active engagement of all of our staff that leads to improved safety in the workplace.

We recognise and fully accept our responsibility for the wellbeing of all , including our clients, our employees, temporary workers and contractors, any others who may be affected by our acts or omissions, and the environment.
We are proud of our strong safety record but we know maintaining this requires constant vigilance. So we continually seek new ways to improve our performance. One way we do this is through our robust integrated HSE Management System, which is accredited by bsi.

Environment

Our commitment to building a sustainable business for tomorrow means the company’s aspects and impacts on the environment are built into our business plans and processes. We strive continuously to reduce the environmental impact of our own operations and those of our supply chain. We do this through the companies accredited integrated HSE Management System by developing systems, processes and adopting technological innovations to reduce our supply chains and our own energy consumption, water usage, carbon emissions and waste.

Our drive to be a responsible business extends beyond our own operations to our supply chain. We work in partnership with clients to help achieve their own sustainability goals. We have developed an environmental database which records our consumption of resources and measures our carbon intensity. By diverting waste from landfill, cutting paper use, promoting recycling schemes, innovating with the greenest technologies for our vehicle fleet and by saving water and energy, we are acting today to sustain our business, our clients’ businesses and the environment in which we work for tomorrow’s generations.
