George Roberts (N.W) Ltd has recently invested in a pair of 26-tone Mercedes Axor 2529s Vehicles. The latest has a Hiab crane while, in a new departure, the other has a factory-fitted sleeper cab.
George Roberts’ Depot Manager Andy Roscoe says: “The new crane truck replaced a similar vehicle that’s been stood down, whereas the first Axor was an addition to the fleet, to cope with growing demand for our services.
However Andy Roscoe says the sleeper cab feature is brand new addition to the company’s already excellent delivery service: “We’ve always tried to combine deliveries into multi-drop runs where possible, but increasingly we’re being called upon to go further a field – we offer nationwide coverage and regularly send trucks as far as Inverness and Cornwall. The sleeper cab allows the truck to stay out for several days at a time, giving us greater flexibility and allowing us to organise our runs more efficiently.”
Our fleet at George Roberts (N.W) Ltd now extends to five trucks, every one of which wears a three-pointed star. Our commitment in always aiming to improve our service to our customer is a key driving force in ensuring we can maintain our company benchmark, which is to be the industry's first choice suppliers of quality products and services for the hire and sale of scaffolding and access equipment to the construction, engineering, oil and leisure industries and government funded bodies.
